MEET JASMINE

Jasmine Macon is the chef and creative force behind Beyond Amazing Donuts (B.A.D.), one of Charlotte’s most talked-about pastry pop-ups. A professionally trained pastry chef with a bold, nostalgic style, Jasmine is known for her inventive donut flavors, playful presentation, and unapologetically authentic voice.

Her love for baking began with an Easy-Bake Oven and a big appetite. Growing up, Jasmine's grandmother told her she’d better learn to cook for herself—and she took that advice seriously. What started as childhood curiosity quickly became a passion. By high school, Jasmine knew she wanted to pursue baking professionally, eventually earning a degree in pastry arts.

In 2014, she began experimenting with donuts—finding joy in reimagining childhood treats with unexpected twists. From cereal milk glazes to cheesecake-stuffed creations, Jasmine’s donuts strike a balance between comfort and creativity. Her talent blossomed further during her time in the kitchen at Leah & Louise, where she developed original recipes and refined her culinary voice.

Beyond Amazing Donuts began as a grassroots pop-up, with Jasmine selling her creations at beloved Charlotte spots like HEX Coffee in Camp North End. Her following grew rapidly thanks to her warm personality, boundary-pushing flavors, and candid storytelling on Instagram @ConfectionsOfAMartian, where she shares the highs and lows of life as a Black woman in food.

Jasmine continues to bring joy and imagination to every batch—proving that a little magic (and maybe an Easy-Bake Oven) can go a long way.
